The Department of Physics was established in the year 2017, in order to motivate the rural students to pursue higher education in the field of science. The Physics Department has highly qualified, dedicated, four sincere faculty members and substantial infrastructural facilities. As Physics is the basic science required behind every innovative creation, the students in this department are cultivated to churn their minds in innovative area. Students were taught with deep insight into fields such as Mechanics and Properties of Matter, Heat & Thermodynamics, Optics, Electricity & Magnetism, Atomic Physics & Quantum Mechanics, Nuclear Physics, Solid State Physics, Electronics, Microprocessor, Integrated Electronics, and Mathematical Physics. The Department is enriched with the latest instruments pertaining to General Physics Laboratory, Electronics Laboratory and Microprocessor Laboratory. Students were given exposure to the experiments related to all the above specializations. Involve physics-based industries in academic programmes to enrich the courses and create value-added linkages and career opportunities for students. Ensure the creation of responsible personnel through engagement in socially relevant outreach programmes. Students are encouraged to do mini scientific projects also.

Objective

• To create strong interest in Physics so as students can further develop themselves through self-study and to organize outreach activities to promote scientific culture. To support the developmental activities of the college and make the department vibrant.
• To make vital contributions in the areas such as modern labs and demonstrate a high level of competence in the study of Physics.
• To develop strategy in the department for continuous improvement. To produce quality students ready for teaching and research and to be a department of ‘Excellence’.
• To develop and provide interest among students for other frontier areas of current research which includes Nano-science, Astrophysics, High Energy Physics, Plasma Physics, Photonics, Microwave Physics and etc.
